In 1930, Ethel Bodine was living with her parents in Dawson County working as a public school teacher. Roy and Ethel Cunningham appear to have divorced as in the obituary of her mother in 1959 she is called Miss Ethel Bodine and her death was reported to the Social Security Administration as Ethel Bodine.

BIG SPRING (RNS)- Ethel Bodine, 77, of Lamesa, died at 3:20 p.m. Friday in a Lamesa hospital. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday in the Nalley-Pickle Rosewood Chapel. The Rev. Jim Mosley, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Ackley will officiate. Burial will be in Trinity Memorial Park. She was born Sept. 3, 1896, in San Augustine. She was a retired secretary. She came to this area two years ago, and had lived in Fort Worth over 40 years. She was a member of the Baptist Church. Survivors include three brothers, L.C. Bodine of Ackley, R.E. Bodine of Burns Flat, Okla., and J. B. Bodine of San Augustine; one sister, Mrs. A.V. Stanfield of Lamesa; and several nieces and nephews.
