Leonard H. Vaughn, 55, of 1352 N. 20th St., died at 6 a.m. yesterday in Decatur and Macon County Hospital. He came here from Warrensburg 20 years ago, and was a retired employee of the Houdaille-Hershey Corp. He was born in Chicago Sept. 26, 1905, a son of John Fuller and Edith Zumwalt Vaughn. Mr. Vaughn married Gladys Diehl Feb. 8, 1952 in Decatur. He leaves his wife; two sons, John F., Lake Charles, La.; William L., Decatur; and five grandchildren. Services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday in the Dawson & Wikoff Funeral Home. Burial will be n North Fork Cemetery. Friends may call after 5 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Clarence Diehl, 73, of 93 Hillcrest Ave., died at his home at 2:25 p.m. Saturday. Firemen were called, but death has occurred when they arrived. A retired roofing contractor, Mr. Diehl was born in Greene County June 6, 1893, the son of Jacob and Louise Geis Diehl. His wife, Lillian Diehl, died Dec. 24, 1965. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Betty L. Kunz of Lebanon, Ill.; a son, Marvin L. Diehl of Urbana, Ill.; a stepson, Philip Burke, of Xenia; two sisters, Mrs. Josephine O'Brien of Xenia and Mrs. Marguerite Luster of Springfield; two grandchildren, Cindy and Mark Clayton of Lebanon, Ill., and two step-grandchildren, Robin and Christy Burke of Xenia. Also preceding him in death were two sisters, Clara Fawley and Eva Graham, and two brothers, Philip and Jacob Diehl. Isaac Flora, pastor of the Northside Christian Church, will conduct services Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Neeld Funeral Home, 106 W. Market St., where friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in Sabina Cemetery.

Mrs. Leonard (Gladys Bodine) Vaughn, 83, of 252 E. Stuart St. died 11:48 a.m. Saturday (Nov. 3, 1979) in Decatur Memorial Hospital. Graveside services will be 1:30 p.m. Monday in Edgar Cemetery, Paris. Sutton & Son Funeral Home, Paris, is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Vaughn was born in Paris, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Bodine. She was a member of the Decatur VFW and was a visiting nurse in the Decatur area. She married Leonard Vaughn, who preceded her in death. Surviving are son, Melvin Diehl of St. Joseph; daughter, Betty Kunz of Highland; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
