Notes for: Nancy Ann Bodine

It is known that this family took in James Fermon Bodine at a young age and took care of him for several years. According to family tradition, the young James Fermon and his aunt Nancy did not "get along" with each other and as the story goes, he chose to leave their home at a very young age and strike out on his own. At this time, it has not been possible to determine what may have happened to the oldest child of this Page family. He was listed on the 1880 Census, but no further information has been found concerning him.

From Ronny Bodine:

In 1900, as residents of San Augustine County, James Page, a farmer, reported that in 25 years of marriage his wife had borne 3 children, all then living. In 1910, James and Nancy 'Pige' lived in Shelby County, Texas where James stated his wife had borne 7 children, but only 3 were surviving. By Jan 1920, James Page had married his 2nd wife Nettie and was living with her in Shelby County.

Children: Josie (July 1878), Ophelia (July 1882), Nancy V. (Feb 1888).
