Her name was Alice S. Strong in the marriage record for her son John Bodine to Helen Morris.

It appears that the marriage of Alexander and Matilda was of short duration. Matilda was a widow with three sons at the time that she married Alexander and the name of the three were James, John Robert and Wm Thos. According to info provided by Tom Bodine, James was killed in a hunting accident.
