[Note: Ethel Bordine of Manitou Beach, Mich. is named as a surviving daughter in the obituary of Edgar Harper, 79, in the Ironwood (Mich.) Daily Globe of 1 July 1957. The Hillsdale (Mich.) Daily News of 17 May 1963 listed the hospital discharge of Mrs. Ethel Bordine of Manitou Beach. Ethel last married Russell L. Knight (1907-1985)]

ETHEL I. KNIGHT, 81, of Zephyrhills died Friday at her home. A native of Mercer, Wis., she moved to this area eight years ago from Bollin, Mich. She was a homemaker and a Methodist. She is survived by a daughter, Eleanor Holcomb of Zephyrhills; a grandchild; four great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. National Cremation Society, Tampa.

Betty Jane Withrow Bordine 68 of Harrison, Passed away Thursday, December 5, 1996, at her residence. Betty was born January 1, 1928, in Washtenaw County, the daughter of oriin and Carolyn (Lindow)Francis. Mrs. Bordine had resided in Harrison since 1968, moving from Manitou Beach. She was a past member of the Eagles Auxiliary and W.W.II Mothers. Betty Francis was united in marriage to Doran Withrow in 1954, he preceded her in death in 1966. She then married Ellsworth Bordine in 1967, he too preceded her in death in 1976. Surviving are her mother Carolyn belcher of California, six sons Lavere Bordine and wife Ellen of Clayton, Lanny Withrow and wife Sandy of Irish Hills, Roger Withrow and wife Cheryl of Tecumseh, Michael Withrow and wife Carol, also of Tecumseh, Walter Cole and wife Terry of Addison, and Doran Withrow Jr of Harrison. Four daughters Barbara Alverson of Colorado, Penny Barron of Harrison, Vicki Withrow of Clare, and Andrea Gilbert of Warren, a brother Edward Belcher of North Carolina, three sisters Norma Jean Sherman of Cadillac, Shirley Wills and husband James of Gladwin, and Carol Dudley and Husband Craig of California. 24 Grandchildren and 11 greatgrandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her father Orrin Francis Sr, her step fatrher Claude Belcher, 2 sons Chuck Bordine and David Withrow, a grandson Jamie ZVogts and a brother Orrin (Bud) FZrancis Jr. Memorial Services were held Monday, December 9, 1996 at the Stocking Funeral home of Harrison with Paster Bradley Withrow officiating. Interment was in Lenawee Hills Memorial Park, Adrian.

Mr. Ellsworth V. "Peter" Bordine, age 62 years, of Harrison, Michigan, formerly of the Clayton-Manitou Beach Addison area, passed away Friday afternoon in Midland Hospital at Midland, Michigan, after a long illness. He was born April 14, 1912, in Lenawee County, the son of Charles and Hattie Bordine. He lived most of his life in Lenawee County with the past 6 1/2 years at Harrison, Michigan. He was a self-employed carpenter. Surviving are his wife, the former Betty J. Francis whom he married in December, 1967; four sons, LaVere Bordine of Clayton, Walter E. Cole of Hillsdale, Jimmy Roger Withrow of Tecumseh and Doran Withrow of Harrison; three daughters, Mrs. Donald (Barbara) Alverson of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Mrs. Elwin (Penny) Vogts of Harrison and Miss Vicky Sue Withrow of Harrison; two sisters, Mrs. Howard (Alice) Berndt of Onsted and Mrs. Carl (Arlene Bringman of Manitou Beach. Also by 12 grandchildren. The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Brown-VanHemert Funeral Home, Hudson. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday and Monday.
