Notes for: Robert Bodine

Yolanda from below said that the first two children's mother was also Mary Cook. We did have their mother as "Unknown."

This is very intriguing!

I did find documents in our family's safe that verified that Robert and Mary were indeed married May 12 1958, so that is correct! I have been on Ancestry today, and it has led me down a path of discovery... all good stuff!! I did see the 1950 Census that you provided.

What I cannot find is any record of a 1st marriage for Robert or any indication that the marriage to Mary was a second marriage. I am eager to find that, if you can point me to that info I would appreciate it! I have gathered so much info and may be missing it or have not yet come across it yet.

Also, your data page indicates that that Mary died November 15, 1989 and later in the obiturary section it states November 14, 1989. The date of her death was the 14th...

Robert's 1st marriage is an assumption based upon the fact he had two older children, Gregory born in 1953 and Bradford in 1954, unless they were born out of wedlock to one or two other women, or were Mary's before Robert and Mary married. I have found no record of that earlier marriage and certainly not in New Jersey where marriage records are complete for the time period.

Mary died 14 Nov 1989 as noted on her grave marker and obituary. But Social Security reported it as 15 Nov 1989, that is why it appears with that date. Exact SS death dates are not always reliable.
