Word has been received here that Sergt. William Berdine, U. S. Army, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Frank Berdine of this place, is in England. Sergeant Berdine's wife and son are residing in Alabama. Sergeant Berdine enlisted in 1940 and was assigned to the Coast Artillery Corps in Panama. After returning to this country he was stationed at Fort Miles and Fort Dupont, Del.

Pauline and William Berdine were divorced and Pauline remarried and bore a son, Allen David Nickles (1954-2015) and before April 1967 married a Bally. Pauline Bally was named as the mother of Allen Nickles in his obituary in The Baltimore Sun of 24 Sept 2015.

In 1940, Norma Goddard, 8, lived with her parents Thurmond & Catherine Goddard, and sisters Evelyn and Virginia (named in her obituary) in Arlington County, Virginia.

MELBOURNE---William Arthur Berdine, 75, a retired chef, died Monday, Nov. 4, at Holmes Regional Medical Center. Mr. Berdine was born in Johnson City, N.Y. He came to Brevard County in 1980 from Silver Hill, Md. He was a member and past commander of American Legion Post 81, and the 8th district in Virginia. Survivors include his wife, Norma Berdine of Melbourne; son, William Berdine Jr. of Kingsville, Md.; daughter, Betty Misotti of Baltimore; and six grandchildren. No calling hours are scheduled. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Brevard Memorial Park. Brevard Memorial Funeral Home in Frontenac is in charge of arrangements. The family requests no flowers. Donations may be made to the American Lung Association, 1900 S. Harbor City Blvd., Melbourne, FL 32901.

Norma G. Berdine, 77, passed away Sunday, March 15, 2009, at William Childs Hospice House in Palm Bay, FL. Norma was born in Long Island, NY. She was President of the Trinity Towers South Association. She is survived by her sisters, Virginia Gross of New Smyrna Beach and Evelyn Shepherd of Colonial Beach, VA; and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, March 28th, at Brevard Memorial Park. Memorial donations may be made to William Childs Hospice House, 381 Medplex Parkway, Palm Bay, FL 32907.
