Adam N. Wade, a prominent citizen of Montgomery, died suddenly, Dec. 21, of apoplexy. He was the son of Jabez E. and Susan Millspaugh Wade and was born in Montgomery, in July 1841. He was educated at Montgomery Academy, and when 16 years of age came to Port Jervis, where he was apprenticed to the tinsmith's trade, with the late Benjamin Ball. To this business he ultimately succeeded. After completing his apprenticeship he worked at his trade in Middletown and in Newburgh, finally becoming associated in 1864 with his brother, Daniel, in Montgomery. In 1898 he and Peter Luquer bought out his brother and for about two years conducted it in partnership. Since that time he had conducted the business alone. Since 1865 he had been a member of Freeman's Lodge, No. 170, I.O.O.F and was likewise a member of Wallkill Court, Foresters of America. He was married to Miss Belle Bodine in 1867, and she survives him with three children, Joseph, at home; Sarah, wife of James Markstahler, and Susie May at home.
