Notes for: Mary Elizabeth Bodine

We are assuming she is the daughter of John and Mary Bodine, but this needs more proof. Someone at Find A Grave gave her middle name as Elizabeth, but I have not seen a source for that. Her tombstone does clearly say she died on June 14, 1879.

From Ronny Bodine (Dec. 20, 2021):

From Livingston County, New York Marriage Records:
Daniel Friare, 27, of Mount Morris AND Mary E. Bodine, 20, of Mount Morris, were married 23 Nov 1848 by C. J. Bacon.

NOTE: Mary Bodine is included as a child because her parents were the only Bodine family to be living in Mount Morris at the time of her marriage and that a child of her presumed brother, Peter Bodine, named a daughter Mary E. Bodine who was born in 1849. In addition, a daughter aged 0-4 and 10-14 (born 1826-1830) was respectively included with the family in the 1830 and 1840 censuses and no female sibling fits this age. Daniel and Mary Prince cannot be located in any subsequent record.

Obituary, The Mount Morris (NY) Union of Thursday, 13 May 1886.
Tuscarora Items. Daniel Friar died at his residence north of the village, Monday morning, aged 65 years. Friar had long been a sufferer from paralysis, and last winter had a severe fall from which he never recovered and which was the direct cause of his death. He was a quaint character and his absence will be much noticed.

Both buried in Dutch Street Cemetery, Livingston County, New York.
