From Ronny Bodine:

From: Underhill Genealogy: Descendants of Capt. John Underhill, ed. Josephine C. Frost, Brooklyn, NY. Pub. privately by Myron C. Taylor in the Interests of the Underhill Society of America, 1932.

1263 JAMES W. UNDERHILL, son of (431) Abraham and Mary (Raymond) Underhill, was born Sept. 9, 1818, and married Oct. 26, 1852, Eugenia, daughter of John Bodine, and died Dec. 20, 1876. She died at the home of her brother Mordaunt Bodine, at 130 West 79th Street, New York City, Nov. 11, 1888, in her 58th year.

Issue:
3086 James Wallace.
3087 John Bodine.

Eugenia B. Underhill of New York City, temporarily staying in Wernersville, Berks County, Pennsylvania, made her will in October, 1888, which was proven Jan. 8, 1889, and recorded in New York, Liber 410, page 466. She mentions: Brother, Mordaunt Bodine, making him executor; widow of son James Wallace Underhill. Witnesses: Robert Walter of Wernersville, Penn., Mary A. Formosa of Rochester, N. Y., and Harriet Longbridge of Philadelphia.

James Wallace Underhill (3086) married a widow Roux and in 1892, at 35 years of age, was of Royan, France, but in October of that year decided to return to America. His step-daughter Denise Roux, not 15 years of age, ran away from her mother and came with him, thereby causing some newspaper notoriety, which he explained away while in Jacksonville, Florida, at the Everett Hotel in December of that year. "The Underhill fortune left by his grandfather is said to be large. His father, brother and mother are dead, the latter dying in 1888 and he is the last of the family." "Mordaunt Bodine is a trustee under the will."

James W. Underhill (1263) of 240 West 22nd Street, New York City, made his will March 25, 1875, which was proven Jan. 30, 1877, and recorded in Jamaica, L. I., Liber 24, page 221. He mentions: Wife, Eugenia B., making her executrix; sons, John B. and James W., Jr. Witnesses: N. L. McCreary of 10 West 22nd Street, New York City, and Elihu B. Baker of Newark, N. J., and 75 Dey Street, New York City.

Proof recites that he was a resident of Long Island City when he died there Dec. 20, 1876, leaving the following heirs: John B. and James W. Underhill, sons, the latter being a minor over 14 years.

John B. Underhill made his will June 19, 1881, which was proven Nov. 19, 1881, and recorded in New York City, Liber 293, page 159.
