Louis came to the US with his mother, Johanna, and siblings from Italy aboard the French ship, "La Gascogne." They departed from Le Havre, France and landed in New York on 4 Sep 1888. Their destination was Colorado.

Dora was born in Friedrikstadt, Kr. Eiderstedt, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. She accompanied her parents and siblings to the US in 1890 aboard the "Gellert" from Hamburg. Dora Married Swiss immigrant, Louis M. Bodine on 3 Apr 1904 at St. John's Lutheral Church, Denver.

On 12 Sept 1918, Louis M. Bodine registered for the World War 1 draft in Denver, Colorado. He reported he was born 28 June 1878, worked as a cook for the Hurlbut Grocery Co. and Dora Bodine, his wife, was his next of kin.
