On 16 Oct 1940, Alvin Lee Lacy of Celeste, Texas, registered for the World War II Draft. He reported he was born 4 June 1910 in Celeste, Texas, was self-employed, and named Ella May Lacy as his next of kin.

Alvin L. Lacy, of Greenville, passed away September 8, 1989, at his home. Services were held at Peters Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. D. D. Sumrall, Jr., and Rev. Mitch Skelton officiating. Burial was in Mount Carmel Cemetery. He was born June 6, 1910, in Wolfe City, to Reece Lacy and Nannie Morgan Lacy. He was married to Ella Mae McAbee on November 12, 1932, in Wolfe City. He was a retired farmer and a member of the Hickory Creek Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife of Greenville; two sons, Charles Lacy of Charlotte, North Carolina and Tommy Lacy of Rowlett; two daughters, Bette Bost of Greenville and Bobbie Kirkwood of Rowlett; two sisters, Johnnie Stapleton of Celeste and Helen Odom of Dallas; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were grandsons.

On 29 Dec 1991 in Greenville, Ella Lacy married Henry J. Ellis Sr. (1907-2001).
