Lambertville--Misses Ruth and Marion Bodine, daughters of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel R. Bodine of 47 Buttonwood Street, were married in separate ceremonies this month. Marion was married to Lewis Elliott, son of Mr. and Mrs. William W. Elliott of near Lambertville, on November 23 at the Baptist Parsonage. The Rev. John Y. Elliott performed the ceremony.

Marion M. Elliott, 75, of 10265 Route 37, died Wednesday at Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center, Ogdensburg. Mrs. Elliott was a bookkeeper and partner in her family's excavating business, L & M Enterprises. Born Dec. 2, 1931, in Lambertville, N.J., daughter of Samuel and Ruth Bight Bodine, she graduated from Lambertville High School. She married Lewis C. Elliott on Nov. 23, 1949. The couple celebrated 57 years of marriage in November. Mrs. Elliott enjoyed spending time on the St. Lawrence River aboard her houseboat and flying her airplane, having earned her private pilot's license several years ago. She also enjoyed knitting, painting, playing the organ, crossword puzzles and gardening. Surviving besides her husband are two sons and their wives, Sam and Cindy Elliott and Lewis and Lori Elliott, all of Lisbon; a daughter and her husband, Sandra and Brian Garriques, Lisbon; two sisters and their husbands, Dot and Ted Cicchino, Atlantic City, N.J., and Sis and Dick Coleman, Lambertville, N.J.; six grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins. A brother, William Bodine, died before her. The funeral will be private with the Rev. Peter Moelker officiating. There are no calling hours. Funeral services for Lewis C. Elliott, age 87 of Lisbon, will be held at 6:00pm on Wednesday (June 28, 2017) at the Fox & Murray Funeral Home with Rev. Walter Smith officiating. Calling hours will be held also on Wednesday from 4:00-6:00pm at the funeral home. Mr. Elliott passed away on Friday (June 23, 2017) at his home surrounded by his loving family. Surviving is a daughter Sandra Garriques and husband Brian; two sons Sam Elliott & wife Cindy, Lewis Elliott & wife Lori all of Lisbon; grandchildren John Elliott & wife Lynn, Tasha Akins & husband Josh, Nichole Dishaw & husband Ed, Jordyn Elliott, Donald Garriques & wife Nichole and David Garriques; great-grandchildren Tyler & Joey Garriques, Lily Dishaw, Mia & Colden Akins along with nieces, nephews & cousins. He was predeceased by his wife Marion; a brother William Elliott II and a sister Mary Allen. Lewis was born on January 19, 1930 in Doylestown PA, a son of the late William & Florence (Smith) Elliott. He attended Lambertville NJ High School and later married Marion Bodine on November 24, 1949. She predeceased him on Jan 31, 2007. Lewis was a self-employed worker for most of his life working as a butcher, dairy farmer, auto body repairman, rental property owner, construction worker, logger and then became the owner & operator of L & M Enterprises in 1990, which he operated until 2008 when he retired. He enjoyed traveling, cross country motorcycle races, rodeos, flying airplanes, boating, horseback riding and working. Memorial contributions can be made to a Charity of One's Choice.
