NAPLES--Mrs. Pauline De Pew, 36, of Naples died Saturday in Thompson Hospital, Canandaigua. Friends may call at the Weldon Funeral Home, Penn Yan today from 7 to 9 p.m. where a funeral service will be held tomorrow at 2 p.m. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery, Penn Yan. Mrs. De Pew leaves her husband, Claude, three sons, Rex, Randy and Ricky, and a daughter, Rhonda, all at home; her mother, Mrs. Irvin Bodine of Penn Yan; a brother, Arthur Bodine of Indian Pines; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Briggs of Dundee and Mrs. Barbara Reeves of Guyanoga. Memorial contributions may be made to the Naples ambulance fund.

Claude O. Depew, 88, of 33 Webster Street, Hornell, passed away Sunday (November 17, 2013) at the Hornell Gardens. Born in Montour Falls, NY, August 19, 1925, the son of Russell and Frances Pelham Depew, he was a graduate of Odessa High School and had served his country as a member of the United States Army during WWII. Claude was a heavy equipment operator for several construction companies, among them CP Ward and Cold Springs. He was instrumental in the construction of Bristol Mountain and the Southern Tier Expressway. Claude lived several years in Alfred, moving to Hornell in August of 2011. He was a life member of the Hornell VFW, a former member of the Montour Falls Moose Lodge, and was an avid hunter. He was predeceased by his parents; his wife, Pauline Bodine Depew on May 8, 1972; and his son, Ricky J. Depew on May 8, 1983; as well as his ten siblings: his twin brother, Clyde, Gail, Paul, Bill, Fred, Gene and Gene's infant twin brother, Ernest, and his sisters, Doris Field, Aniah Bennett, and Mary Cooper. He is survived by his daughter, Rhonda (Scott) Baube of Honeoye; two sons, Randy Depew of Florida and Rex (Donna) Depew of Hornell; four grandchildren, Rachel (Chad Schaumberg) Depew, Craig Tuttle, Kyle Depew and Shannon Masterson; three great-grandchildren, Aiyana Masterson, Devon Masterson and Dylan Depew; his caregiver at the Hornell Gardens, Bernice Mulhollen; and several nieces & nephews, including a special niece, Marilane (Tom) Wheeler of Prattsburgh.
