William F. Bodine AND Elizabeth Anita Criner were married in 1955.

During her 30 years with the U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service, Elizabeth "Beth" Bodine coached immigrants on how to file for work permits and asylum status without the help of an attorney. "Some of the people she helped would call her at home and talk about the things they didn't understand," said her husband William Bodine, with whom she moved to Miami in the late 1940s. "She was a very caring person." Bodine died of cancer March 8. She was 75. Until her retirement in 1980, Bodine worked in many areas of immigration services from travel control to supervisor for the contact representative department. "She was instrumental in trying to help people get settled and get their paperwork properly, so they could later apply for citizenship," her husband said. After her retirement, Bodine spent most of her time working on stained-glass art from a studio in her Hialeah home. She shared her masterpieces with friends and family members and sometimes displayed them in community art shows. In addition to her husband, Bodine is survived by her sisters Bernice Carter, Irene Harvey, Francis Jones and many nieces and nephews. Services were held. Arrangements were by Lowe-Hanks Funeral Home.
