Notes for: Robert Leon Bodine, Sr.

From Ronny Bodine (Nov. 7, 2016):

From Hillsborough County, Florida Deed Book 2455, pages 19 & 572:
In a warranty deed of 9 July 1971 and an affadavit of 28 March 1972, Catherine Bodine, wife of R. E. Bodine, is named as a sibling of James Sirelda Johnson, Kenneth Ray Johnson, George Monroe Johnson, Oscar Cordell Johnson and others in the sale of property as heirs of Irene Johnson, decd.

Irene was the wife of George Maxwell Johnson (1893-1974) with whom she was living April 1920 in Santa Rosa County, Florida. Their grave marker in Milton Cemetery-Berryhill, Santa Rosa County, Florida, notes they married 23 Oct 1916. At the time (1920) they had no children, yet their daughter Catherine's birth was recorded as 1917. In 1930 and 1940, the family lived in Escambia County and Catherine was noted as aged 10 in 1930 and 20 in 1940. The obituary of James S. Johnson, 87, in The Herald-Palladium (St. Joseph, MI) of 27 Aug 2015, named him as the son of George and Irene Johnson and that he was preceded in death by his sister Katherine Bodine, among others. In consequence of the foregoing details the year 1920 for her birth date is used here.
