Notes for: Martha M. Bodine

Martha M. Bodine, from her obituary, is the mother of Guynetta, but I'm not sure who the father is. Her last name in the 1915 Census seems to be Bodine.

Mrs. James F. Stewart, 54, Oklahoma City, a former Ponca City resident and sister of Mrs. Clem Carr, 404 South Second, died Monday morning at the Ponca City Hospital where she had been a patient the past six weeks. Services are to be at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Miles Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Loyal S. Northcott, pastor of the First Christian Church, officiating. Burial is to be in the IOOF Cemetery. She had been in ill health for eight months, becoming seriously ill six weeks ago. Mrs. Stewart was born Aug. 2, 1897, in Clay County, Kan., and moved with her parents to Enid as a small girl. The family later came to Ponca City. She and her husband were married in November of 1932 at Tulsa and made their home in Southern Louisiana. In 1942 they moved to Oklahoma City where he is employed by the Black, Sivalls and Bryson Tank Company. She was a member of the Methodist Church. Survivors include a daughter, Guynetta, and a son, Jimmie Lee, both of Oklahoma City, and her sister, Mrs. Carr. Services are pending with Miles Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. The family is to be here at 618 South Fourth. [Note: The obituary noted she was born 2 Aug 1897, but the 1900 census gives the date as Aug 1891, which date is used here as likely more correct.]
