WALTON---John Marsico, 82, lifetime resident of Walton, passed away Thursday, June 21, 2001, at Countryside Care Center in Delhi. He was born in Walton on Oct. 18, 1918, the son of John and Catherine (Thomas) Marsico. He has been a resident of this community his entire life. He was married to Doris Budine on May 5, 1941, in Walton. He retired from the Delaware County Highway Department as an equipment operator. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving in World War II. He was a member of the Truman C. Toby Post 32 American Legion in Walton, and an honorary member of the Walton Fire Department. He is survived by his wife, Doris Marsico, at home; one son, John Marsico II of Walton; one daughter, Nancy Condon of Walton; and one sister, Josephine Lindhurst of Kingston; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by four sisters, Mary Guarino, Madeline Olson, Theresa Lurenz and Lena Stingone. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 23, 2001, at 11 a.m. at the Clark & Winter Funeral Home, 25 Townsend St. in Walton, with the Rev. Edward J. Ryan, of St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, officiating. Interment will be in Walton Cemetery. Friends may call at Clark & Winter Funeral Home, 25 Townsend St. in Walton, Friday evening from 7 to 9, when the family will be in attendance.

WALTON---Doris I. Marsico, 82, of Walton, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2006, at Wilson Memorial Hospital, Johnson City, after a brief illness. Mrs. Marsico was born Oct. 27, 1923, in Loomis Brook, the daughter of the late Leroy and Mildred Van Akin Budine. On May 4, 1941, she married John A. Marsico in Walton. Doris was a member of St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church in Walton. She was also a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and a charter member of the Walton Firemen's Ladies Auxiliary. Doris worked at the Walton Central School for 30 years in the cafeteria as manager and cook. Upon retirement in 1980, she baby-sat for some of the local teachers' children, along with her great-grandchildren. Doris was a loving grandmother to all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a great cook and passed that skill on to her grandchildren. Doris loved playing bingo and traveled the county almost every night of the week to attend this favorite pastime of hers. She is survived by her two children, John Marsico II and his wife, Suzanne, of Walton, and Nancy Condon and her husband, Ron, of Walton; seven grandchildren, Mike, Steve, Tom and Joe Condon, Deb Babcock, John Marsico IV, and Kia Koberlein; 13 great-grandchildren; a sister, Ruth North of Franklin; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband, John A. Marsico, on June 21, 2001; two sisters, Dorothy Smith and Florence Kozlowski; and one brother, Harry Budine. Memorial contributions in Doris' memory may be made to Delaware Valley Hospital, Walton Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary or the Walton Vets Club Auxiliary. Friends and relatives are invited to call Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. Feb. 23, 2006, at the Clark, Winter & Courtney Funeral Home, 25 Townsend St., Walton. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 24, 2006, at St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, Benton Avenue, Walton, with the Rev. Michael Flannery officiating.
