From Colorado Marriage Records: Arthur W. Bodine and Clarabelle Johnson were married 5 March 1930 in Englewood, Arapahoe County. [Note: Clarabelle Johnson was the daughter of Ansel and Flossy (McVay) Johnson. The Arizona Republic of 31 May 1962 reported the divorce of Arthur W. and Clarabelle Bodine.]

POPE--Mrs. Clarabell Pope, 58, a resident of this city for 4 years, passed away Sunday following a short illness. She resided at 9309 Indian School Road NE and is survived by her husband, Mr. Homer L. Pope, of the family home, a son, Mr. Ralph Bodine, Trenton, N.J., a daughter, Mrs. Murle Ebbe, Santa Monica, Calif., a sister, Mrs. H. O. Mitchell, Denver, Colo., and a brother, Mr. Alex Johnson, Phoenix, Arizona. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church. Funeral arrangements will be announced by the Strong-Thorne Mortuary.

Clarabelle Pope was buried in Fairview Memorial Park, Albuquerque, Bernalillo County, New Mexico.


2nd marriage--1962--HELEN E. MANDOTTE.
From Riverside County, California Marriage Records: Arthur W. Bodine, 53 AND Helen Mandotte Turner, 44, were married 9 Nov 1962. [Helen Mandotte was the daughter of Joseph and Louise Mandotte. The Arizona Republic (Phoenix) of 27 Jan 1964 reported "Mrs. Art Bodine and Joe Lynch were married recently in the Presbyterian Church, Taos, N.M."]

Arthur William Bodine, 67, founder of the Bodine Produce Co., died Thursday in Scottsdale Memorial Hospital. A native of Colorado, Mr. Bodine moved to the Valley in 1932 and resided at 5257 E. Arroyo. He was past president of Arizona Citrus Growers, Western Growers and Arizona Vegetable Growers Associations. He also was vice chairman of the board of Sunkist Growers Inc. He was a member of Sigma Chi fraternity at Colorado A and M and a member of the Jesters of El Zaribah Shrine. Mr. Bodine is survived by his wife, Helen; a son, Ralph E., of Phoenix; a daughter, Sue Egge, of California; one sister and five grandchildren. Visitation hours will be from noon until 6 p.m. Sunday in A. L. Moore & Sons Mortuary, 333 W. Adams St. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in A. L. Moore & Sons Mortuary.

Established in 1985, The Bodine-Sunkist scholarship honors the memory of Sunkist board vice chairman Arthur W. Bodine.
