Albert J. Goncar Sr., 83, died Sunday, Oct. 26, 1997, at Manor Care Nursing Home, Pittsburgh. Born Dec. 30, 1913, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late Florian and Pauline Trebatizky Goncar. Mr. Goncar was an army World War II veteran where he received a Purple Heart. He was a machine repairman for Westinghouse Electric. Survivors include two sons, Albert J. Goncar Jr. of Shaler and David J. Goncar of Sharpsburg; one daughter, Patricia A. Huston of Etna; a brother, Joseph Goncar; a sister, Dolores Muth; and seven grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Helen M. Pudysz Goncar. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today in Bock Funeral Home, 1500 Mount Royal Blvd, Shaler. A combined service by the American Legion Post 785 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9199 will be at 7:30 tonight. Christian Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Bonaventure Roman Catholic Church, Shaler. Burial will be in Mount Royal Cemetery, Shaler. Memorial contributions may be made to Odyssey Home Health, Parkway West One Suite 500, Pittsburgh, Pa 15275.
