Richard W. Bodine, 28, son of Comly Oakes Bodine (born in Elimsport, Pa.) and Mary Tate Bodine (born Allenwood, Pa.) married Audra D. Weaverling, 21, dau. of David Weaverling (born Everett, Pa.) and Helen Oakman (born McConnellsburg, Pa.) were married 7 May 1948 in Bedford, Bedford Co., Pa.

Richard W. Bodine, 59, of Carlisle R. 2, died Friday at Williamsport Hospital following a heart attack. He was a graduate of Montgomery High School and attended Lycoming College. He was a World War II veteran who served in the Army Air Corps in the Pacific Theater. He was a retired state police sergeant with 31 years of service and had been stationed at the state police barracks at Carlisle, York and Gettysburg. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Julia Rice Bodine; a son, Samuel R., on the USS Holland submarine stationed at Holy Loch, Scotland; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Cornley O. Bodine of Williamsport; and two sisters, Mrs. Jane Brower and Mrs. Nancy C. Spangle, both of Williamsport. Services were held today at 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home at 6:30 S. Hanover St., Carlisle with Rev. Dr. Russell M. Weer of Carlisle officiating. Burial was in Landisburg Cemetery.

CARLISLE Julia M. Rice Bodine, 69, of Carlisle died Monday at her daughter's South Carolina home. She was the widow of Richard W. Bodine. Surviving are two sons, Richard B. Holeman of Snow Hill, N.C., and Samuel R. Bodine of York; a daughter, Carlisle H. Scott of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; and five grandchildren. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in Nickel Funeral Home, Loysville. Burial will be in Landisburg Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10: 30 to 11 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Mercy Hospice of Horry County, PO Box 1409, Myrtle Beach, S.C. 29578.

Julia (Rice) Bodine was the daughter of Emery Silas and Ida M. (Kuller) Rice.
