From Ronny Bodine:

Obituary, Record-Eagle (Traverse City) of 2 Dec 2001.
TRAVERSE CITY - Mrs. Louise Bodine Lehr, longtime resident of Traverse City, departed to be with her husband on Friday, Nov. 30, 2001. Mrs. Lehr was born in Okmulgee, Okla., on Dec. 15, 1914, the daughter of Orville and Hulda (Dalton) Bodine. Mrs. Lehr spent her childhood in Tulsa, Okla. In the depths of the Great Depression, her parents moved the family to Ellsinore, Mo., where Louise completed high school and met and married John R. Lehr, to whom she remained married until his death in 1995. John, a Pure Oil Company employee, and Louise were transferred to Michigan at the beginning of the oil discovery here in the 1930s. Subsequent job transfers saw them living in Weidman, Reed City, White Cloud and Grayling before retiring to the Traverse City area. They also spent several years in the Woodsfield and Millersburg areas of Ohio. Throughout their lives, John and Louise were active in the Baptist Church, often founding and supporting new churches wherever the need arose. In Traverse City, they were members of the Cherryland Baptist Church. Her faith and her family were the focus of her life. Louise is survived by her three sons, John (Wanda) of Traverse City, Jim (Janet) of Odenton, Md., and Bill (Donna) of Columbus, Ohio. She leaves eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson; and numerous nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 3, at the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home, with Pastor Lyle Seltmann officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Grand Traverse Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be directed to either Munson Hospice, 1100 6th St., Traverse City, 49684, or to the First Baptist Church of Destin, Fla., 32541.
