WEATHERSFIELD---A graveside service for Wilfred G. Bodine, 72, who died Saturday in Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Hanover, N.H., will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. in Oakland Cemetery in Springfield. The Rev. Henry Cheney, pastor of United Methodist Church, will officiate. He was born Oct. 11, 1918, in Bellows Falls, the son of Wilfred and Bessie (Sheldon) Bodine Sr. He was graduated from Bellows Falls High School in 1937. He attended Carnegie Technical College. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. On July 5, 1947, he married Ruth Butterfield. He retired in 1982 from Fellows Gear Sharpner after 41 years of service. Mr. Bodine was a member of the Masonic Lodge, the Springfield Hit or Miss Club and the Crown Point Country Club. Survivors include his wife of Weathersfield; three daughters, Barbara Bodine of Alexandria, Va., Linda Ricci of Bellows Falls and Laura Wormell of Leominster, Mass.; a son, Thomas Bodine of Sterling, Mass.; a sister, Mary Bodine of Hanover; and six grandchildren. There will be no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to Vermont Heart Association, 2821 Shelburne Road, Shelburne. Davis Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

PERKINSVILLE---Ruth B. Bodine, 76, died suddenly Saturday at her home. She was born Jan. 3,1923, in Springfield, daughter of Edmund and Vivan (Burke) Butterfield. She was a 1940 graduate of Springfield High School and a 1944 graduate of the University of Vermont. She married Wilfred G. Bodine on July 5, 1947, in Springfield. He died in 1990. She was employed as an engineer at Fellows Gear Sharpner in North Springfield. She later worked at Miller Art Center in Springfield and as a medical secretary for Dr. Richards. She enjoyed golf, skiing, tennis and travel. Survivors include a son, Thomas Bodine of Sterling, Mass.; three daughters, Barbara Bodine of Perkinsville, Linda Ricci of Bellows Falls and Laura Wormell of Leominster, Mass.; a brother, Forrest Butterfield of Springfield; seven grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. There will be no calling hours. A graveside service will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at Oakland Cemetery in Springfield. The Rev. William Scherwerts, pastor of the United Methodist Church in Springfield, will officiate. Contributions may be made to the Vermont Heart Association, 12 Hurricane Lane, P.O.
