BODINE JAMES CARL BODINE "Jimmy" James "Jimmy" Carl Bodine, 73, of Rockville, MD, died Monday, October 3, 2016, at Shady Grove Adventist Hospital. He was the loving husband of Helen Bodine for 34 years. Born December 13, 1942, in Tacoma Park, MD, he was the son of the late Claude Alton Bodine and Nettie Cecelia Bodine (later McLaughlin). He was a graduate of Blair High School and served as a Police Officer with the Maryland National Capital Park Police, Montgomery County Division, from 1967 until 1991, where he retired as a Sergeant. He also served in several roles with the Montgomery County chapter of the Blue Knights motorcycle club - representing men and women of multiple law enforcement agencies - including serving as the Chapter President for the last nine years. He was known for being a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He will be remembered as always helping those in need, without wanting thanks or recognition. Surviving in addition to his wife are two children: Bill Bodine of Frederick, MD, and Tommy Bodine and wife, Maureen, of Smithsburg, MD; one grandchild: Joshua Bodine, of Hagerstown, MD; and two sisters: Susan Sansone, of Kensington, MD, and Patty McLaughlin of New Port Richey, FL; several cousins; two nieces; and two nephews. A memorial service will be held on November 4th at 10:30 a.m. at Woodlawn Manor Park, located at 16501 Norwood Road in Sandy Spring, MD. Interment will follow in Union Cemetery, Burtonsville, MD. Please do not send flowers as the location is not set up to receive flowers. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that contributions be made in Jimmy's name to either Bikers Helping Sick Children, Inc., a registered Section 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, at 49 Amanda Drive, Smithsburg, MD 21783, or to HEROES, Inc., a registered Section 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, at 1200 29th Street, NW, Washington, DC 20007.Please do not send flowers as the location is not set up to receive flowers.
