Obituary, The Gazette (Colorado Springs, CO) of 13 Dec 2016.
Sharon Anne Olyejar, 67, of Calhan, Colorado, passed away at home surrounded by her family on the 9th of December, 2016. She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Steven Olyejar, Jr., and their children Kris (Berna) Olyejar and Eric (Niki) Olyejar, and grandchildren Hannah and Rachel Olyejar. Sharon was born in Chicago, IL and was raised and made her home with Steve in Calhan, CO. She shared her extraordinary gift of music in many ways with countless people, including teaching piano and voice lessons; leading several congregational choirs; and performing as a soloist in several choirs including the Southern Colorado State University choir and the Colorado Springs Chorale. She and Steve spent many hours in their garden, making one of the most beautiful yards in Calhan year after year, and canning many home grown tomatoes and vegetables. Sharon's greatest love was her family, and cooking was one of her many talents that she loved sharing with them. Her celebration of life service will be held at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Calhan on Saturday, January 7, 2017, at 10:00 a.m. followed immediately by a potluck (please bring a side dish) at Calhan Public School. In lieu of flowers or gifts, the family requests donations be made in Sharon's name to Pikes Peak Hospice and Palliative Care.
