On 5 June 1917, Arthur J. Vanderlip registered for the World War 1 draft in Woodston, Rooks County. He reported he had been born 1 Sept 1891 in Woodston, was married and had a child and worked as a farmer. In 1920, Arthur and Edith Vanderlip lived in Lowell, Rooks County and 1930 in Mound, Bates County, Missouri engaged in farming (and married for 17 years) and in April 1940 in Arapahoe County, Colorado.

Arthur J. Vanderlip, of Green Mountain Falls, died Monday at a local hospital. He had been town marshall of Green Mountain Falls for the last 10 years. He was formerly a live stock dealer in Englewood for 20 years. Mr. Vanderlip was born in Woodston, Kan., Sept. 1, 1891. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Edna Vanderlip, Green Mountain Falls; four sons, Robert, Norman and Edward Lee Vanderlip, all of Denver, and Ronald Vanderlip, who is in the U.S. Navy; three daughters, Mrs. Lois Worl, Durango, Colo.; Mrs. Helen Ideen, Casper, Wyo., and Mrs. Roseilla Hambright, Sturgis, Mich.; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Lavon Baker, Wichita, Kan.; four sisters, Mrs. Della Patterson, San Francisco, Calif,; Mrs. Ester Elder, Rocky Comfort, Mo.; Mrs. Ethel Painter, Woodston, Kan., and Mrs. Evelyn Poore, Stockton, Kan., 17 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the Swan Drawing Room. The Rev. Conrad Pyle will officiate. Burial will be in the Littleton cemetery at 3 p.m. Friday.
