HARTLY - Steven R. Bodine Sr. of Hartly passed away, after a courageous battle with cancer, Tuesday, July 12, 2005. He was 52. Mr. Bodine was born Sept. 10, 1952, in Dover, son of the late John Sr. and Catherine Truitt Bodine. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps. Mr. Bodine did masonry and carpentry work in the local area for many years, in addition to working as a cook at several Dover restaurants. He loved camping, traveling and cooking. He was an avid NASCAR fan of Dale Earnhardt Sr. and Dale Jr. Mr. Bodine was a past member of Camden-Wyoming Moose Lodge. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, John Bodine Jr. and Larry E. Bodine; and a brother-in-law, Raymond "Henry" Morris Sr., in 2005. He is survived by two daughters, Tonya Bodine of Dover and Tammy Bodine of Cheswold; a son, Steven R. Bodine Jr. of Cheswold; two brothers, Kenneth H. Bodine of Dover and Gary E. Bodine of Wyoming, three sisters, and two brothers in law, Deloris A. and Roland M. "Mitch" Dill of Wyoming, Sandra H. Morris of Hartly and Roxann and Ernest Melvin of Camden; seven grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews, cousins and many close friends. Remembrance services will be noon Saturday in the Trader Funeral Home, 12 Lotus St., Dover, where friends may call one hour earlier. Pastor Ronald L. Secrest will officiate. Burial will be 1 p.m. Monday in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear. Instead of flowers, the family suggests contributions to help defray funeral expenses, c/o Trader Funeral Home, 12 Lotus St., Dover, DE 19901.
