Oliver Howard Bodine, 53, of Walnut Grove, died after a sudden illness Friday afternoon in a Sacramento hospital. He was a native of Taloga, Okla. and has lived in Walnut Grove for the past 23 years. For the past 25 years, Mr. Bodine had been eomplyed with the Nelson Trucking Company of Santa Clara and has been a member of the International brotherhood of Teamsters Local No. 150. He was preceded in death by a brother, Sylvester Bodine, who died in 1948. Mr. Bodine is survived by his wife, Kathryn Bodine of Walnut Grove; three daughters, Glenda Crisamore of Washington, Brenda Bodine and Kathryn Bodine both of Walnut Grove; six sons, Darryl Bodine of Lodi, Gary Bodine of San Francisco, Richard Bodine of Fort Ord, Robert Bodine of Richmond, Howard Bodine, Jr. of Sacramento, David Bodine of Isleton; three sisters, Myrtle Bryant of Stockton, Twila VanCise of French Camp and Colleen Osborn of Michigan; two brothers, Marvin Bodine of Sacramento and Lewis Bodine of Stockton; three grandchildren. Services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of the Gierhart & Wells Funeral Home with the Rev. Lawrence Huggett of the Walnut Grove Presbyterian Church officiating. Interment will be in Cherokee Memorial Park.

Carol Jean Hood, 68, of Stockton died Wednesday in a hospital. She was born in Portland, Ore., and lived in Stockton for 58 years. She was a homemaker. Survivors: children, Ben Bodine of Lodi and Gaye Lynn Schmidt of Washington; brother, Ron Lenaham of Ontario; a grandson; and two step-grandchildren. Services: graveside, 11 a.m. Monday, Stockton Rural Cemetery, 2350 Cemetery Lane. Visitation: none. Mortuary: DeYoung Memorial Chapel.
