Flemington--The wedding of Miss Sandra Lea Kanach, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Kanach of Ringoes, to Robert H. Bodine, nephew of Mr. and Mrs. Carson Van Horn of Lambertville, took place on October 12 at St. Magdalena de Pazzi Catholic Church.

Although not mentioned in the obituary of Robert Bodine, he was also the father of two children by his 1st wife, Sandra, son Jeffrey, born in 1958 and Kim, born in 1960. The newspaper obituary of Louis P. Kanach in the Trenton (NJ) Evening Times of 14 Sept 1976 named among his survivors a daughter (by his 1st wife), Mrs. Sandra Bodine of Ringoes. The newspaper obituary of Rose Ann Kanach, 2nd wife and widow of Louis Kanach, in the Trenton Times of 27 July 1996, names among her heirs a stepdaughter, Sandra Bodine of Somerville and two grandchildren, Jeff Bodine of Flemington and Kim Ballantine of Ringoes.


2nd marriage--before 1983--PATRICIA A. SCHWARZ.
In 1983, Robert and Patricia Bodine lived at the same address in Somerville, NJ. The couple divorced and in Feb 1984 in Hampton, Hunterdon County, NJ, Patricia A. (Schwarz) Bodine married Peter Dale Gatyas (1947-1985). She married 3rdly, Douglas A. Meredith.

NEW BRUNSWICK- Robert H. Bodine, 71, of Monroe Township died Monday in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Born in Trenton, Mr. Bodine was raised in Lambertville , where he graduated from Lambertville High School in 1956. He lived in Highland Park and Kendall Park before moving to the Rossmoor community in Monroe Township in 1998. Mr. Bodine was a 35-year employee of the Johnson & Johnson Corp., North Brunswick, retiring in 2000. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. Mr. Bodine was predeceased by his mother, Ruth Van Horn Bodine, and his brother, Kenneth Bodine. Surviving are his wife, Shirley Werner Bodine; his father, Clarence of Frenchtown; three stepdaughters, Kim Jesperson of Petersburg, NJ, Sherry Puskas and her husband, Jimmy, of Somerset and Tracy Hatton and her husband, Bob, of Sayreville; a brother, James Robins of Waretown; two sisters, Diane Ott of Bridgewater and Sue Eller of Damascus, VA; five grandsons, a granddaughter, and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 8 p.m. Friday at the Lester Memorial Home, 16 W. Church St., Jamesburg. The family will receive friends and relatives from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Assoc.
