Notes for: John C. Bodine

Harry Bodine filled out John's Death Certificate. He said John's parents William Bodine and Sarah Taylor were both born in Pennsylvania - as well as John himself. Harry claimed John was 58 y and 24 dys old, but that can't be right.

In 1900, John Bodine lived in West Dover Hundred, Kent County. He was a farmer and reported that he and Mary had been married 2 years and had one child, Jennie. His son Archie, age 11, also lived with him. In 1910, John Bodine, age 48, living in Kent County reported Lillian was his 2nd wife, to whom he had been married 13 years and who had borne 6 children of whom 5 were living. In 1920, John Bodine, age 56, worked as a huckster of oysters and fish in Kent County and in 1930, age 65, worked as a farm laborer. John Bodine reported in 1900 and 1930 that his father was born in Pennsylvania and his mother in Delaware. In 1910 he said both of his parents were born in Pennsylvania. In 1920 he said his parents were born in the United States. The Delaware death record of John Bodine names his parents as William Bodine and Sarah Taylor and that he was buried in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Camden, Kent County.
