WILLIAM HORACE BODINE of Roselle Park, New Jersey, registered for the World War II Draft on 30 June 1942. He reported he was born 31 Oct 1923 in Elizabeth, New Jersey, worked for Eastern Aircraft Division of General Motors and named Mr. William Bodine [his father] as his next of kin.

The 1951 Elizabeth (Union Co.), New Jersey City Directory lists William Jr. and Edna Bodine and William H. III and Elizabeth Bodine as residents and William J. and William III working together in the real estate business.

BODINE, ELIZABETH H., 61, of 4500 22nd Ave. N, St. Petersburg, died Sunday (June 14, 1987) at Bayfront Medical Center after a long illness. Born in Elizabeth, N.J., she came here in 1983 from Roselle Park, N.J. She was a member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Roselle Park. Survivors include her husband, William A.; a son, Gary Crawford, New Jersey; a daughter, Aimee Case, Erie, Pa.; a sister, Jane Hering, Roselle Park; a brother, Herman Hering, Scotch Plains, N.J., and two grandchildren. BODINE, Mary Morgan 87, passed away peacefully in hospice on Monday, June 10, 2013. She was born Mary Agnes Burgess in Beaver, WV on Sept. 28, 1925. In West Virginia, she was a highly regarded public school teacher for 32 years and positively impacted the lives of many young people over that time. In 1987, after the death of her first husband, Al Morgan, she moved on her own to Treasure Island. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Fred and John Burgess. Survivors include her wonderful husband of 23 years, William H. "Bill" Bodine; daughter, Carolyn Morgan; son, Mike Morgan (wife, Dona); grandchildren, Kelley Grimm, Scott Grimm, Sara Morgan, and Matthew Morgan; stepdaughter, Aimee Case (husband, Ed Case); five stepgrand-children and several nieces and nephews. All who knew Mary soon learned she was a loyal West Virginia Mountaineer. She was also a league tennis player at the T.I. Tennis & Yacht Club until age 82. Mary volunteered at St. Anthony's Hospital in the radiology department for 20 years and was a member of St. John's Catholic Church. She was very active, fun, adventurous, friendly, and sociable. Mary never met a stranger, and she was compassionate and generous. She loved to be around friends and family and to travel with Bill to reunions and WVU football games all over the country. A memorial mass will be held a St. John's Catholic Church, St. Pete Beach on Monday, June 17 at 11:30 am. Mary's friends are invited to join the family for a celebration of her life at 825 116th Ave., Treasure Island after the service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Sun Coast Hospice or St. John's Catholic School.

William H. Bodine, born to Edna (Hipple) and William Bodine Sr, flew his last mission at home in Treasure Island Fla. A graduate of Roselle Park High School, "Bill" attended the University of Maryland before joining the service. In Europe Bill flew 50 missions as a P-47 pilot with the 9th Air Force. He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross, the Air Medal with four clusters, the Belgian Fourragere (for the Battle of the Bulge) and the distinguished Unit Badge. Bill was a member of the USAF Reserve until 1955. Once home, Bill joined his father's independent insurance agency, and became the business owner upon his father's death. In 1950 Bill married Elizabeth (Liz) Hering, of Roselle Park, where they raised a family. They enjoyed a wide circle of friendships including those from the Elmora Country Club, The Roselle Golf Club, the P-47 Fighter Pilot Association and the 407th Fighter Group. Retiring in 1983, they moved to Forked River, NJ and St. Petersburg, Fla. Liz passed away in 1987. In 1990, Bill moved to Treasure Island, Fla. In 1990, Bill married Mary Morgan, originally from West Virginia. They enjoyed life as extreme WVU fans, Treasure Island Tennis and Yacht Club members and world travelers. Mary passed in 2013. In 2015, Bill moved to Royal Palms in Largo, Fla. Recently he returned home to Treasure Island, to be with his daughter Aimee and son-in-law, Ed Case. Bill was also, preceded in death by sister Barbara Klepic, brother-in-law, Herman Hering & wife Ruth, sister-in-law Jane Hering and Peter Grammatico, late husband of Becky Caico (grand daughter). Bill is survived by a son, Gary Bodine & long time partner, Tara Oliver, daughter, Aimee & Ed Case, as well as grand daughters and their spouses: Becky & Frank Caico, Christen & Tony Manzi, Liz & Corbin Lounsbury, Marie & Jesse Denick and Cathy & Devin Hinchman. Bill's five great grandchildren are Jayna and Justin Grammatico, Olivia and Adaira Manzi, and Peter Lounsbury. Also endeared to Bill was niece Cathy Hering Buser, nephews Bob Hering and Wade, Michael, and Glen Klepic. Bill is fondly remembered by the families of his second wife; Mary's son Mike & Dona Morgan, their children Sara and Matthew, and daughter, Caroline Morgan, and her children, Kelley Grimm and Scott Grimm & his wife, Wendy. Bill requested cremation and wanted no memorial service. Internment will be private. Donations in memory of William Bodine may be made to Suncoast Hospice Foundation, 5771 Roosevelt Blvd, Clearwater, Fla. 33760, who were invaluably compassionate during his final weeks.
