Notes for: William 'Earl' Bodine

He was William E. Bodine, age 7 in 1900, Earl Bodine, age 17 in 1910 and Earle W. Bodine, age 27 and single, living with his parents in 1920 and working as a machinist in an auto garage. On 5 June 1917, Earl Bodine registered for the World War I draft in Nez Perce County, Idaho. He reported he was single and worked for the Lewiston Sweetwater Irrigation Company. In 1930, William Bodine lived in Del Rey, Maricopa County, Arizona where he worked as foreman for a concrete paving business.

At Quiet Ceremony Miss Mabel Stone became the bride of William Earl Bodine at a pretty sunrise wedding at the home of her parents on East McDowell road at 6 o'clock Friday morning. The service was read by the Rev. Philip T. Pendleton with only the immediate family in attendance.

Services for William E. Bodine, who died in Good Samaritan Hospital, will be at 3:30 p.m. today in Memory Chapel, A. L. Moore and Sons Mortuary, The Rev. Zeno Johnson will officiate. Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Park. Mr. Bodine operated the B and C Precision Excavating Co. which he established six years ago. He was city manager of Mesa in 1926 and 1927. During the next fifteen years he was chief construction engineer for the Arizona Highway Department. He then became superintendent of construction for P. W. Womack Co. in Nevada, and later held a similiar post with Packard Construction Co. Ten years ago he became sales engineer for State Tractor Equipment Co. and held the position four years. He lived at 2242 E. Brill. He is survived by his wife, Mabel; a son, William S. Bodine, Phoenix, superintendent of the Roosevelt Water Conservation District; two sisters, Mrs. L. Erwin Stapley, Phoenix, and Mrs. Estelle Davison, Garfield, Wash., a brother, Charles, Pryor, Okla., and three grandchildren.

Mabel Frances Bodine, 87, of Phoenix, a retired credit manager, died Jan. 31, 1995. She was born in Cairo, Ill. Survivors include her son, William S.; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday, Greenwood Memorial Park, 2300 W. Van Buren St. Hepler Funeral Home, Camp Verde.
