Beverlee Rachael Miller, 84, of Iron Mountain, passed away Thurs. May 2, 2013 at her home, surrounded by her family, after a courageous battle with cancer. Beverlee was born on Nov. 13, 1928 in Iron Mountain, the daughter of the late Gustaf and Mabel (Peterson) Bodine. She graduated from Iron Mountain High School in 1947. Following her graduation, she worked as a secretary at Grede Foundry and Champion, Inc. She married Albert Miller, Jr. and raised her family. Beverlee attended Bay de Noc Community College and graduated as a LPN and then received her RN degree. She enjoyed caring for the veteran's at the VA Medical Center for twenty-two years. She retired in 1994. Beverlee was a member and attended Our Saviour's Lutheran Church. Her children and grandchildren were everything to her. They were blessed to have such a loving, caring mother and grandmother. She was always there for them. Beverlee enjoyed traveling, bird watching, coffee clutching with friends, trying new recipes, and eating a good chocolate chip cookie. On Sundays it was going to church and watching football, especially the Green Bay Packers. Her homemade salad dressing was fabulous and counted on at all family gatherings. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers Stewart Bodine and Hartley Bodine, and her sister Seve Bodine. Beverlee is survived by one sister Kathryn Calahan of Appleton, WI, three sons James (Louisa) Miller of Iron Mountain, Don Miller of Byron Center, MI, and Rick (Connie) Miller of Vicksburg, MI and one daughter Debra Ruohomaki of Hamilton Lakes, Vulcan. She also leaves her precious grandchildren Deidra Ruohomaki of Madison, WI, Derrick Ruohomaki of Spread Eagle, Dayna (Gabe) Lacosse of Kingsford, Carmen (Keith) Schierbeeck of Byron Center, MI, Grant (Fiancé Stephanie) Miller of Byron Center, MI, Cory Miller of Byron Center, MI Cassandra Miller of Vicksburg, MI and Stephanie Miller of Vicksburg, MI. Beverlee was also awaiting the birth of two great grandchildren in May and November. Bev also leaves her sister-in-law Shirley Mande of Iron Mountain, several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many, many dear friends. Visitation will be on Thurs. from 10-11am at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church. Funeral services will be at 11am at the church with a luncheon to follow in the church hall. Rev. Lee Liverance will officiate. Burial will be in Cemetery Park at 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made through the family to Bev's favorite charities, her church and the Dickinson County Cancer Loan Closet.
