In 1910, John L. Bodine lived with his parents and worked as a carpenter. On 5 June 1917, Charles Leslie Bodine registered for the World War I draft in Somerset County. He reported he was born 2 April 1889 in Chester, N.J., was employed by John Bodine of Gladstone, and was married and had one child. In 1930, he lived in Peapack, Somerset County engaged as a carpenter. He registered for the World War II draft in 1942, as a resident of Gladstone, Somerset County and an employee of the John Bodine Company, Inc. of Gladstone. His next of kin was his wife Mrs. Hazel Bodine. John and Hazel Bodine were buried in Peapack Union Cemetery, Gladstone, Somerset County.

Peapack-Gladstone---Leslie Bodine of Dewey Ave. died yesterday (Apr. 26, 1962) of a heart attack while working on the Arthur Turnbull Jr. estate in Pleasant Plains Rd., Bernardsville. Born in the Mt. Rose section of Chester Township 74 years ago, Mr. Bodine was a life-long resident. A building contractor, he was president of the John Bodine Company for 40 years. He leaves a widow, Mrs. Hazel Brown Bodine at home; a son, James R. of Gladstone; a daughter, Mrs. Jack Windas of New York; two sisters, Mrs. Charles T. Trimble and Mrs. Anna M. Benjamin, both of Gladstone, and three grandchildren. The Rev. Stanley Bain, pastor of the Gladstone Methodist Church, will conduct funeral services in the Bailey Funeral Home tomorrow at 2 p.m. Interment will be in Union Cemetery. Friends may call in the funeral home today from 7 to 9 p.m.

BODINE, Hazel B., age 97, of Gladstone on Wed. June 13, 1990. Mother of James R. Bodine of Gladstone and Mrs. Jeanette Windas of N.Y.C. She is also survived by three grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Funeral service will be on Sat. June 16, at 10am at the Gladstone United Methodist Church. Memorial gifts may be made to the Gladstone United Methodist Church, Jackson Ave, Gladstone NJ 07934. Arrangements are by Bailey Funeral Home Inc 176 Main St. Peapack.
