John C. Bodine, 73, of Washington Township, died Saturday April 14, 2007, in Lopatcong Care Center. Born: April 16, 1933, in Easton, a son of the late Willard and Gladys Bodine. Personal: He and his loving wife, Bettyann, were married 54 years. He was employed as a candy coater for 32 years at M& M Mars Co., Hackettstown, retiring in 1997. He was a graduate of Washington High School, class of 1951, where he was an accomplished football player. He was an avid Philadelphia Eagles Fan. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and especially enjoyed following his grandson's racing career; he was his biggest fan. Memberships: He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Washington. He was also a member of the Free Masons Mansfield Lodge 36, where he served as a Shriner. Survivors: His wife, Bettyann; two sons, David and his wife, Michele, of Asbury and Timothy and his wife, Eve, of Columbia, N.J.; four grandchildren, Amanda, Eric, Brooke and Nathan; and his Golden Retriever, Jake. A son, John Jr., died earlier. Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday in Warren Hills / Ford Memorial Home, 234 West Washington Ave., Washington, with Pastor James Scovell officiating. Call 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home. Cremation is under the direction of H.G Smith Crematory.
