Hello Dave

Hope this email reaches you easily. Also hoping you can assist me …..

I'm not a Bodine connection -- I am a long-committed, “long-addicted” genealogist, and even though I live in South Africa, am a member of the NEHGS and NGS in the USA.

Ronny Bodine kindly posted some notes on the late Henry Albert Bodine of Pawleys Island, SC -- he died in 2008 and his wife Georgine S. Bodine (nee Sinclair) died in 2011.

Georgine Sinclair's forebears were in South Africa for several generations, and in Cape Town too. Her father or grandfather Albert John Pryce Sinclair (Sr) (who left South Africa for Baltimore) was a 2nd cousin of my own maternal grandfather Dr StC O Sinclair.

Is there any way you or Ronny could put me in touch with Henry and Georgine's family?

I would be happy to share with them more of their Sinclair lineage which I have been researching for 50 years plus. The story includes (e.g.) naval battles in India between the English (Royal Navy) and the French, and Capt. Matthew Flinder's circumnavigation of Australia ……

Warm regards and do stay safe.

Dave ….

You're quick on the draw! Thanks.

Nancy MacAllister she was.

The MacAllister name comes up also as a family middle name in a later generation.

There were several generations of AJP Sinclair. “Albert John Pryce Sinclair”. It was AJP Sinclair “II” who went to Baltimore as a young man, married Nancy. He was born in Cape Town. As a young genealogy family enthusiast - 1960's or early 1970's (as a schoolboy or college student), I met his younger brother, had a lovely family history interview with him.

...

Pryce was another family surname (in-laws).

Hope this helps.

I think I can find some of their close relatives also through Ancestry subscribers, will also try that route.

Best

Dave
