Detwiler, 25, of Receiving Station, Anacostia, D.C., single, US Navy, born in Shippingsburg, Pa., son of Albert Frank Detwiler & Esther Lutz AND Charlotte Bodine, 23, of Anacostia Air Field, Anacostia, D.C., single, US Navy, born in Long Branch, NJ, dau. of Russell Bodine & Edith N. Pruden, were married 26 May 1944 in Arlington by Walter M. Lockett, Jr., Minister of the Methodist Church.

David and Charlotte Detweiler divorced and in June 1949 in Skamania County, Washington he married Dorothy Antisdel. The 1950 Portland, Oregon City Directory lists David A. & Dorothy M. Detweiler as residents as does the 1956 Omaha, Nebraska City Directory, but in that of 1959, Dorothy M. Detweiler is listed as the widow of David A.

David A. Detweiler, 38, of 4814 Douglas Street, died of carbon monoxide poisoning in his parked car early Sunday. The car was discovered in an alley between Forty-sixth and Forty-seventh Street near Burt Street at 6:30 a.m. Acting County Coroner George Sullivan said a rubber hose had been attached to the exhaust pipe and placed through the car's rear window.

Charlotte Amelia Bodine applied for a SSN in December 1936 and reported she was born 20 July 1920 in Long Branch, NJ, dau. of Russell S. & Edith M. (Pruden) Bodine. In September 1968 she reported her name as Charlotte Amelia Luther. She died 30 Aug 2004.

Kenneth Bart Luther applied for a SSN in October 1945 and reported he was born 18 Nov 1921 in Philadelphia, son of Kenneth A. & Almeda M. (Henry) Luther. He died 13 July 2005.

Charlotte Bodine Luther, 83, of West Long Branch, died Monday, Aug. 30, at the St. Barnabas Hospice and Palliative Care Center, Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. She was a Navy veteran of World War II. She was a member of Old First United Methodist Church, West Long Branch, and the Auxiliary of American Legion Post 346, Neptune. She was also a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Mrs. Luther was a lifelong resident of West Long Branch. Surviving are her husband, Kenneth Luther; two daughters, Nancy Hayes of West Long Branch, and Jane Fries of Ocean Township; two brothers, Russell Bodine of Eatontown, and Jay Bodine of Neptune; a sister, Mildred "Sis" Beebe of West Long Branch; two grandsons and their wives, Kenneth and Marnette Hayes, and Ryan and Celeste Fries; and two granddaughters, Jamie Hayes and Danielle Fries. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Woolley Funeral Home, 10 Morrell St. at Broadway, Long Branch. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday from the funeral home. Entombment will follow in Woodbine Mausoleum, Oceanport. Kenneth B. Luther, 83, of West Long Branch, died Wednesday, July 13, at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. Before retiring he owned H & L Sheet Metal, Eatontown, which he founded and operated until December 2004. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and a member of American Legion Post 346, Neptune. Mr. Luther was born in Philadelphia and lived in West Long Branch since 1962. His wife, Charlotte Bodine Luther, died in August 2004. Surviving are two daughters and a son-in-law, Nancy Hayes of West Long Branch, and Jane and Nick Fries of Ocean Township; a sister, Barbara Herring of Lincroft, Middletown; two grandsons and their wives, Kenneth and Marnette Hayes, and Ryan and Celeste Fries; and two granddaughters, Jamie Hayes and Danielle Fries. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Wooley Funeral Home, 10 Morrell St. at Broadway, Long Branch. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
