1900 (9 June) Madison Twp., Middlesex Co.: John BORDINE April 1838 NJ married 36 years Engineer, Amelia Sept. 1842 NJ wife married 36 years 1 child born/1 living, Dorcas DAYTON Feb 1814 NJ widowed mother-in-law.

In 1910, he was John Bodine, living on his own income with his wife Amelia. In April 1930, Amelia Bodine, aged 87 and widowed, lived with her son Spencer in Long Branch Township, Monmouth County. Amelia (Dayton) Bodine was the daughter of John and Dorcas (Brown) Dayton.

Will of John D. Bodine, of Cheesequake, Madison Township, Middlesex County, dated 6 March 1905, names wife Amelia and son Spencer D. Bodine. Probated 15 April 1915. Probate states he died on 16 July 1913. On 14 Jan 1913, John M. DeVoe had renounced executorship. On 26 March 1915, Russell Bodine [Spencer's son] applied for and was appointed executor. (Middlesex Co. Will Book 29, 1892-1915, p. 159-163).

Amelia (Amy) Bodine (Bordine), wife of John Bodine, died on November 15, 1934, at the age of 93 in City of Long Branch, County of Monmouth, and State of New Jersey, leaving her surviving a son, Spencer D. Bodine."

West Long Branch, Nov. 16.---Mrs. A. Amelia Bodine, widow of John Bodine, died last evening at the home of her son, Spencer B. Bodine, 619 Wall street. Mrs. Bodine who was 92 years old Sept. 5, had been confined to her bed for the past 29 months. Born in Cheesequake, the daughter of John H. and Dorcas Warne Dayton, she was an active church worker. She donated the ground where Cheesequake Episcopal church of which she was a member was built and was one of the three who gave notes to finance the building of the church. Beside her son, Spencer B. Bodine, two grandchildren, Russell and Thurston Bodine, and six great grandchildren survive. Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Spencer Bodine residence. The Rev. H. J. Lane, pastor of the First Baptist church, will officiate. Interment will be in charge of Director Willis A. Woolley, will be in the Cheesequake Methodist burying grounds.
