Mr. and Mrs. George A. Sproule of South Orange, announce the engagement of their daughter, June Ruth Sproule, to Paul Edward Bodine, son of Mr. and Mrs. Claude T. Bodine of 117 Columbus Avenue. The wedding will take place on August 7 at 2:30 p.m. in the Church of the Holy Communion, South Orange.

June Ruth Sproule Bodine, of Toms River, died Monday at Community Medical Center, Toms River. She taught high school home economics and physical education and also worked as a preschool teacher. She held real estate licenses in Maryland and New Jersey while raising her family. She was a graduate of Columbia High School in South Orange and Ohio Wesleyan University while majoring in home economics. She was a member of Alpha Chi Omega and Phi Upsilon Omicron sororities. Born and raised in South Orange, she lived in Hamilton Square and Overland Park, Kan., and Cumberland, Md., before moving to Toms River in 1978. Surviving are her husband of 48 years, Paul E. Bodine; three daughters, Cynthia L. Box of Toms River, Sandra L. Hirnsworth of Perkasie, Pa. and Paula J. Hughes of Paradise, Pa.; and three grandchildren, Paul, Christian and Chad. Visitation will be held 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, followed by a funeral service at 8 p.m. at Anderson and Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main St., Toms River.
