Kralj, Doris M. Born Doris Melvin Swan, and formerly Bodine, died August 13, 2015 at age 96 in Carlsbad, CA where she retired in 2008. For most of her life Doris lived in South St. Louis County where she and her deceased husband Louis J. Kralj, owned the family oriented Lou's Tavern in Gardenville. Both Lou and Doris enjoyed a wealth of close friends from the area and were long time members of the American Legion and the American Legion Auxiliary respectively. Some years after Lou died Doris and William Bill Zavadil, deceased, became inseparable friends sharing their senior years in a loving and devoted companionship. Duck, Doris' nickname was a wonderful and supportive mother to Donald L. Bodine, her only child and his spouse, Carolyn Jolly Bodine. Doris and Jolly had a very close and loving relationship with shared interests in family and womens' fashion. She dearly and always loved Charlene Smith, spouse of Cody, who is the mother of all her grandchildren. She was a devoted, loving, and caring grandmother to Debra Bodine, Michelle Bodine Wischmeyer, wife of Jeffrey, Donna Bodine Peterson, wife of Randal, and Bryan Bodine, spouse of Larissa Varaday Bodine. Her great grandchildren; Asia Sinclair Wirth, Nolyn and Jack Wischmeyer, Spencer and Cameron Peterson, and Devon Bodine along with her great-great grandchild Silas Wirth were the light of her life. Doris was also the loving aunt to Daniel Despain, spouse of Maryann and great aunt to their children. Doris' ashes will be buried privately at Lou's grave in the Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. A memorial-celebration for family only will be held in California. No other events are planned.
