The marriage of Miss Elizabeth Ann Gober, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph J. Gober of Shenandoah, Pa. to Robert P. Bodine Jr. took place yesterday in St. James' Roman Catholic Church in Philadelphia. The Rev. Thomas F. Grogan officiated.

Robert P. Bodine, 86 of Riddle Village, passed away July 5th 2016. Born in Trenton, NJ, son of the late Robert P. and Edith N. Bodine. A graduate of Trenton Central High School and Princeton University, magna cum laude BA in economics and Temple University, MA in education. Bob taught elementary education in the William Penn S.D., followed as a writer and photographer for the Town Talk. He was an avid outdoorsman with interests in bluebirds, gardening and conservation. Survived by his wife of 55 years, Betty; sons Jim (Alyse) and Peter; granddaughters Lucy and Brooke. Memorial service to be scheduled. Elizabeth G. Bodine, 89, of Media, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 14, 2023. She was born December 13, 1933, in Shenandoah, Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late Joseph and Anna (Siritz) Gober. After graduating from J.W. Cooper High School in Shenandoah, PA, she moved to Philadelphia where she attended and graduated from The University of Pennsylvania Nursing School in 1956. She worked as a Registered Nurse for almost two decades. With an interest in expanding her professional skills, she attended and graduated from Immaculata College, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree and worked as a dietician for several years. Subsequently, she worked at Delaware County Community College as a member of the College's library staff. A gourmet cook, Betty loved to entertain family and friends. She was an avid bridge player over 50 years, enjoyed walking in Ridley Creek State Park over many years and participated in a variety of activities and committees at Riddle Village, her home of more than 15 years. She traveled extensively across the U.S. and Europe with her husband, Bob, as well as friends which included multiple Elderhostel, now Road Scholar, excursions. She read voraciously and had a lifelong curiosity and interest in a range of topics, including current events and Philadelphia sports. Betty was a tireless and fiercely loyal wife, mother and friend. She is survived by two sons, James (Alyse) Bodine and Peter Bodine and two granddaughters, Lucy Bodine and Brooke Bodine. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Robert Bodine in 2016 and her brother, Joseph Gober in 2014. A memorial service will be held at a time and date to be announced.
