Mr. and Mrs. Russell Glenn Simmons of Greenville, N.C., announce the marriage of their daughter, Jean Simmons Cooper, to Charles Bradfield Bodine, son of Mr. and Mrs. David Monroe Bodine Jr. of 301 West State Street. The wedding took place on Monday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Russell G. Simmons Jr., Guilford College, N.C. in the presence of the immediate families. Dr. John Redhead of the First Presbyterian Church of Greenville, performed the ceremony.

GREENSBORO, N.C.---Charles Bradfield Bodine, 65, died on Wednesday, Nov. 1, at his home here. Born in Trenton, he was an area resident until moving to Greensboro in 1954. He was a graduate of the George School and Swarthmore College and did graduate work in Brunswick, Maine, and Sorbonne University, Paris. Mr. Bodine had recently retired after 35 years of service with Martindale Hubbell Co. and prior to that had been involved in the family business of D. M. Bodine and Sons, Port and Roll Manufacturers. He was a member of Column Lodge No. 120 of the Free and Acepted Order of Masons, the Trenton Country Club, the Carteret Club and the American Legion Post No. 1, Paris, France. He is survived by his wife, Jeanne Simmons Bodine, a son, Charles Bradfield Bodine Jr. of Wilmington, N.C.; two daughters, Virginia Cooper Schwall of Mobile, Ala., and Marsha Cooper Threvathan of Greenville; a brother, David M. Bodine III of Sanibel, Fla.; seven grandchildren; and two nieces, a nephew and several cousins. Services were held at the First Presbyterian Church of Greensboro with interment at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Greensboro. memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 652 Whitehead Road, Trenton, N.J. 08648.

GREENSBORO - Jeanne Simmons Bodine, was embraced by God while surrounded by her loving family, Wednesday, May 2, 2007. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 4, at the First Presbyterian Church in Greensboro, with the Reverend Peggy Matthews officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. She was born to the late Russell Glenn Simmons and Mary Strickland Simmons in Memphis, Tenn. She was a life long resident of Greensboro. Jeanne was a lifelong member of First Presbyterian Church, where she was very active in her younger years. She was also a member of the Junior League of Greensboro and the Garden Club. Jeanne was preceded in death by her husbands, Henry J. Cooper, Jr. and Charles Bradfield Bodine. She is survived by her children, Virginia "Gigi" Cooper Schwall (George) of Mobile, Ala., Marcia Cooper Trevathan (Tom) of Greenville and Charles B. Bodine, Jr. (Dee) of Greensboro; grandchildren, Glenn L. Spencer, Jennie Trevathan Lentz, Lauren Trevathan Daigle, Kelly Cooper Trevathan, Lindsey Sullivan Hagood, Christopher Ryan Bodine, Heather Nicole Bodine; great grandchildren, Kylie, Jackson, and Hope Spencer, Jacklyn, Sidney and Savannah Hagood; one brother, Russell G. Simmons, Jr.; and several lifelong loving friends.
