Subject: George H. Bodine Date of Birth

Hi, Dave,

Your Bodine site is great. Although I have been following George H. Bodine and his wife Agnes for a decade, this is my first opportunity for exchange with a Bodine researcher. I have January 7, 1872 for George's date of birth. I confess I am not sure where I have it from. You only have January. If you are interested, his wife was born Agnes McFadden on March 17, 1866 in Philadelphia. I have her death certificate and the return of her marriage in 1885 to Jacob H. Wildblood. They divorced. Neither the marriage nor death certificate shows a middle initial for Agnes. You have E. I had C. For George and his sister Josephine, you say Riverview Cemetery is on Center Street. It has always been and still is spelled Centre Street. I am a Trenton native and a member of First Baptist Church on that street.

Regards,

From Ronny Bodine:

In 1900, George Bodine lived with his wife of 4 years, Agnes, in Trenton, Mercer County, where he worked as a car inspector. In 1930, George Bodine, now widowed, lived in Hamilton, Mercer County working as a watchman. As William and Agnes Bodine had no children in 1900 and no Bodine children were named in the obituary of George's mother, Louisa Bodine in 1920, it appears the marriage was childless. In 1920, George and Agnes Bodine lived in the home of George McGinnis in Trenton, Mercer County. At the time George Bodine was employed as a Special Agent for the Railroad.

Obituary, Trenton Evening Times (Trenton, N.J.) of 12 Jan 1929.
Mrs. Agnes Bodine, 63 years old, wife of George A. Bodine, who died yesterday afternoon following a lengthy illness, will be buried privately from the home of her nephew, George McGinnis, 31 Southard street, Monday morning at 8 o'clock. Requiem high mass will be celebrated at St. Mary's Cathedral at 9 o'clock. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, under direction of Swayze & Margerum. Mrs. Bodine is survived by her husband, one son, John Wildblood, and one daughter, Mrs. Edward Hoffman. [Note: George Bodine is given a middle initial of A. herein and in his own obituary it is an H. It refers to the same person as both Georges were buried in Greenwood Cemetery under direction of the same funeral home and from the funeral notice published in the Trenton Evening Times of 14 Jan 1929, one of the bearers was John Ashmore who served in the same capacity for George Bodine.]
