Notes for: Nels (Nele) Bodine

In 1900, Nels Bodin lived with his wife Lizzie and 3 children in Breitung Township, Saint Louis County, Minnesota where he worked as a miner. He reported that he had immigrated to the United States in 1882 and was naturalized and that in 6 years of marriage his wife had borne 3 children, all then living with them. In 1920, Nele Bodine and his family lived in Soudan, Saint Louis County working there as a laborer in an iron mine. He reported that he immigrated to the United States in 1882 and was naturalized in 1897. Living with the family was Elizabeth's mother Mary Oakman, age 67. His Minnesota death record noted his original name as N. E. Nelson.
