A 72-year-old man was found dead at an east Fort Worth stable. The dead man was Oscar L. Martin of 2201 N. Chandler. An autopsy will be performed, but it appeared that Martin suffered a heart attack while taking care of his granddaughter's horse at a 4100 E. First St. stable. Martin collapsed and was pawed by the horse before his body was discovered, police said.

Frances E. Martin died Tuesday in her Fort Worth residence. She was 68. Funeral will be at 11 a.m. today at Mount Olivet Funeral Home. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Mrs. Martin was born in Maybank. She was a retired nurse for Harris Methodist Fort Worth for about 30 years. She retired in 1981. She was a member of Springdale Baptist Church in Fort Worth. Survivors include one son, Oscar Martin Jr. of Fort Worth; her father, C.C. Bodine of Hugo, Okla.; one brother, Johnny Bodine of Hugo; one sister, Mary Alice Coats of Arlington; and two grandchildren. [Note: The obituary notes Evelyn was born in Maybank which is in Henderson and Kaufman counties, but according to Texas birth records she was born in adjacent Van Zandt County.]
