The birth of Lawrence Bodine, son of Fred and Emma Bodine, on 13 Feb 1887 in Flint, Genesee County, Michigan appears in the birth records for Genesee County. The year tended to fluctuate thereafter to include Feb 1883 and Feb 1884 as well as 1887.

On 24 Jan 1905, Earl L. Bodine enlisted in Springfield, Missouri in Company E, 5th Cavalry. He reported he was born in Flint, Michigan and was 21 years and 11 months old, thus born in Feb 1883. He was discharged at Fort Apache, Arizona Territory on 23 Jan 1908. He reenlisted 12 Feb 1908 at Jefferson Barracks, St. Louis, Missouri again into Company E, 5th Cavalry when he reported his age as 24 years and 11 months. He deserted 29 April 1908, surrendered 18 July 1908 and was discharged 11 Feb 1911 at Schofield Barracks, Wahiawa, Hawaii. He reenlisted again 20 Feb 1911 at Fort Shafter, Honolulu, Hawaii and was assigned to Company G, 20th Infantry. He was discharged 27 Sept 1911 at Fort Shafter.

The Hawaiian Gazette (Honolulu, Oahu, Hawaii) of 28 July 1911 reported the following: MARRIAGES: BODINE-ANTONE--July 17, St. Elizabeth's church, Carl L. Bodine to Annie Antone, both of Honolulu. [Note: The announcement misprinted Carl for Earl) Marriage records for Honolulu record the marriage of Earl Lawrence Bodine, age 24, born in Michigan, son of F. A. and Anna Bodine to Annie Antone, born on Maui, daughter of Frank and H. M. Antone on 17 July 1911 in Honolulu, Oaho, Hawaii.

Anna (Antone) Bodine was the daughter of Frank and Hannah Kalamanamana (Uaua) Antone. Earl and Anna Bodine divorced and Anna Bodine married 2ndly, 11 July 1918 in Honolulu, Ronald F. Brissette with whom she was living April 1930 in Honolulu, Hawaii. Her son, Edward Bodine, was living with them. The eldest child of Ronald and Anna Brissette was their son Ronald, age 10.

On 12 Sept 1918, Earl Lawarence Bodine registered for the World War I draft in Colusa, California. He reported he was born 13 Feb 1884, worked as a truck driver for S. A. Oattenwalter of Colusia and Annie V. Bodine of Hanohano Lane, Honolulu, Hawaii was his nearest kin. In 1930, he lived in Montebello, Los Angeles employed as a truck driver. Earl's California death record notes his mother's maiden name was Squires and in 1930 he reported that his parents had been born in Missouri. Annie (Labenski) Bodine was the daughter of Daniel Webster and Mary Ann (Patterson) Labenski. Earl Bodine cannot be located in the 1900-1920 censuses. Earl and Velma Bodine were buried in Rose Hills Memorial Park & Mortuary in Whittier.

Funeral services for Velma L. Bodine, 88, of Pico Rivera were conducted Friday, Aug. 2 at 3:45 p.m. by Rose Hills Mortuary in Hillside Church, with Rev. Caleb Ecrement officiating. Interment followed in Rose Hills Memorial Park. Mrs. Bodine, a resident of California for 54 years, was born in Texas, and died Wednesday, July 31 in Beverly Manor West Convalescent Hospital in Whittier. She is survived by two sons: William E., and Louis E. Bodine; a brother, Louis Labenski; a granddaughter, Jeanne Gardner; and a great-grandson, Michael Gardner.

Hi my name is Rebecca Boucher, my maiden name is Bodine. I found your website through a search engine. Linking 2 names that is on my family tree, and either your information is wrong or mines is wrong but.... here is the names I found through your website. Edward Earl Bodine married to Anna Antone.

My family information is this.
In my family tree Edward Earl Bodine is the Son of Anna Antone not married. Also Edward Earl Bodine is my grandfather, he become a senior after my father Edward Earl Bodine Jr. was born. Also Edward Earl Bodine was born in April 1912 not 1889.

I wanted to ask you where you had got your information? My information is based one verbal family and some history documents. I was told Edward Earl Bodine's fathers name was Earl Lawrence Bodine, but we can't find any documents linking Earl Lawrence Bodine to Anna Antone. Anyways if you have any information you can share with me or your sources of information that would be fantastic. But I will update more information here.
