George Bodine was a U.S. Army veteran of World War I. In 1930, George Bodine, age 37 and divorced, lived with his sister and brother-in-law in Detroit where he worked as proprietor of a food store. He was buried in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville, Shelby County, Illinois.

Shelbyville--George E. Bodine, 73, of Shelbyville died at 4:20 a.m. Sunday at the Shelbyville Restorium. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Lockhart and Son Funeral Home here. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery. Surviving are his mother, Mrs. Ella Bodine; two sisters, Mrs. Eva Torrey of Detroit, Mich. and Mrs. Ora Kellett of Shelbyville.
