In 1900, Charles Bodine, 27 and single, lived with his parents in Richland Township, Shelby County, Illinois. In 1910, Charles and Fannie Bodine lived in Holland Township, Shelby County where Charles worked at odd jobs. On 12 Sept 1918, Charles Henry Bodine registered for the World War 1 draft in Vendalia, Fayette County, Illinois. He reported he was born 28 Oct 1872, worked as a farmer, and that Fannie Addie Bodine was his next of kin. In 1920, the family lived in Liberty Township, Effingham County, Illinois where Charles now worked as a grocery merchant.

Fannie Whitrock was the daughter of Lewis and Jane Whitrock with whom she was living 1900 in Holland, Shelby County, Illinois. Fannie Bodine married 2ndly, Charles McCollum (1876-1954). The newspaper obituary of Charles McCollum in the Beecher City Journal of 11 March 1954 stated "He was united in marriage to Mrs. Fannie Whitrock Bodine, who passed away in 1935. One daughter, Betty, blessed this union."

Charles Henry Bodine died 12 Jan 1923 in Beecher City, Effingham County.
Fannie Addie McCollins died 14 July 1935 in Loudon, Fayette County, aged 48 years.

SHELBYVILLE, Jan. 13.---Charles Henry Bodine, a well-known merchant of Beecher City, died suddenly in his home at 10 o'clock Friday morning. Two years ago he was operated on and never fully recovered from the effects. Mr. Bodine was a son of the late Richard and Elizabeth Bodine. He was born in Richland township Oct. 22, 1872. Besides his wife, whose maiden name was Fannie Whitrock, he leaves a son and daughter, Kenneth and Dorothy Bodine. He also leaves three brothers and two sisters, James L. Bodine, East Alton; John W. Bodine, Shelbyville; Eli Bodine, Wheeler, Mo.; Mrs. J. M. Sowers, Danville, and Mrs. Dora Rawlings, living on the Bodine homestead in Richland township. One brother, Lafayette, and a sister, Mary Jane, died a number of years ago. Mr. Bodine had spent most of his life in Shelby county, although for a number of years he had been in business in Beecher City. Funeral arrangements have not been completed. Burial will take place in Richland cemetery, ten miles southeast of Shelbyville.
