Genevieve (Boyd) Bodine, 93, of Cambridge, formerly of Bethel passed away on Wednesday, January 21, 2009 at GracePointe Crossing West. She was born on January 31, 1915 in Farmington, Minnesota the oldest of nine children to Oakley and Inez (Miller) Boyd. Genevieve in survived by her loving husband of 70 years Melvin of Cambridge, daughter Binie Bertils and husband Bob Schwartz of Oak Grove, Shirley and husband Gary Carlson of Sunriver, Oregon, four grandchildren Mark Bertils, Wendy (Troy) Bergstrom, David (Karen) Carlson, and Jodi Carlson, four great grandchildren, two sisters Floa Finholdt of Austin, Iva Nere of Mankato, one brother Ralph Boyd of Dundas, many nieces, nephews and friends. She was forever caring for others.

Melvin M. Bodine, 98, passed away on May 11, 2011 at the Cambridge Medical Center. Genevieve B. Bodine, 93, passed away on January 21, 2009 at GracePointe Crossing Gables West. Melvin was born May 14, 1912 in Bethel, Minnesota to J.W. and Lydia (Soderberg) Bodine. Genevieve was born January 31, 1915 in Farmington, Minnesota to Oakley and Inez (Miller) Boyd. On January 14, 1939 they were united in marriage in Austin, Minnesota. They were longtime residents of the Bethel area, where they raised their two daughters. Mev and Gen farmed in the Bethel area until 1958 when Melvin began working for Metropolitan District Mosquito Control. Genevieve drove school bus for the St. Francis School District for over 15 years. After retiring they spent many winters in San Juan, Texas. They also enjoyed spending time with family at the cabin on Rabbit Lake near Aitkin. In 2000 they moved to Cambridge and purchased a town home at River Hills, and would later reside in the assisted living portion of River Hills. They enjoyed entertaining friends and spending time with their family. They are survived by their two daughters Binie Bertils and husband Bob Schwartz of Oak Grove, Shirley and husband Gary Carlson of Sunriver, Oregon, four grandchildren Mark Bertils, Wendy Bergstrom, David (Karen) Carlson, Jodi Carlson, five great grandchildren Sarah Bertils, Rachel Nichols, Nathan Bergstrom, Natalie Carlson, Abby Carlson, Melvin's nephew Robert Wicklander of Friendswood, TX, Genevieve's sisters Floa Finholdt of Owatonna, Iva Nere of Mankato, and brother Ralph Boyd of Dundas, as well and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
