Jane (Segers) Bodine is the daughter of George and Iva Flores (Dickie) Segers.

As a highway engineer, he worked on numerous state road and bridge projects, including the Guntersville river bridge. After retiring from the state he worked in recovery efforts around New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina and in Tuscaloosa after the 2011 tornado. Danny Bodine, a lifelong resident of Guntersville, died Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2012, in Crowne Healthcare of Ft. Payne. He had been diagnosed with lung cancer and had been there 9 days for therapy. He was 65. He lived on Monroe Street in the Happy Home neighborhood. He was married to the former Debra Sue Hayes. His parents were Clarence and Mary Jo Bodine. He was a 1966 graduate of Guntersville High School, where he played football for 4 years. He was voted "most handsome" in the senior class "Who's Who." He worked 33 years for the State Highway Department, where he started as a part-time employee, took a lot of training courses and worked up to engineer status. After retiring from the state he went back to work for Nell-Schaeffer Engineering of Birmingham and worked for them until last year. He helped with the 4-laning of the Guntersville river bridge, among lots of state projects in this area. The company he later worked for sent him to New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina and to Tuscaloosa after the tornado there. He was a member of Happy Home Baptist Church. He loved the outdoors, especially fishing and hunting. He was an avid Crimson Tide fan. He is survived by his wife, Debra Bodine; 2 daughters, Caryn Bodine of Guntersville and Tara Maltbie (Jack) of Albertville; a son, Jeffrey Bodine of Guntersville, and 5 grandchildren, Colton Maltbie, Connor Maltbie, Anna Bodine, Madison Bodine and Adrian Paz. His body was cremated. A private memorial service is planned. Grant Memorial Chapel is assisting the family.
